Lead Engineer (m/f/d)

As a Lead Engineer (m/f/d) at DevBoost, you will combine the roles of project manager, strategist and problem solver in one central position. You will take responsibility for individual DevBoost development teams and projects and act as a sparring partner for tech leads from a wide range of software manufacturers.

Your responsibilities

  • You will lead teams of 3-5 developers who work closely with our clients’ development teams to implement sophisticated development processes and software architectures.
  • You see yourself as the human interface between subject matter experts and development teams – with empathy, clarity and technical depth.
  • You enjoy giving critical feedback and acting as a sparring partner, and you are confident working on an equal footing with experienced developers and tech leads (CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Development).
  • You do not see yourself as a service provider to the customer, but take the lead in the collaboration and actively shape the customer relationship.
  • You participate in technical discussions (including software architectures, CI/CD tooling, test automation) and conceptual work (e.g. refactoring strategies, optimisation of development processes) and can actively contribute to their implementation at any time
  • You moderate workshops with customers, clarify complex issues and help established engineering teams find new ideas and solutions

Your profile

  • You are passionate about software development, know the latest trends and still love programming
  • You have several years of leadership experience as a team lead in the tech industry and want to continue growing in your role
  • You are opinionated, know how to give critical feedback and are not afraid to step outside your comfort zone
  • You easily adopt your customer’s perspective, set clear project goals and always act in a solution-oriented manner
  • You have the drive for continuous personal and professional development – you inspire confidence in yourself, your team and your projects
  • You have the ability to systematically analyse problems, moderate group discussions and develop concrete proposals and plans for action

Benefits

  • Testing instead of hoping: We focus on methodological excellence and high development quality
  • Knowledge instead of belief: We create space and opportunities for personal development through conference attendance, internal workshops, an annual DevCamp and external training courses
  • Impact instead of processing: We work on software products (e.g. highly scalable backends, innovative business applications or mobile apps) in exciting and future-oriented industries (including automotive, manufacturing, finance and energy), in current technology stacks (including AWS, GCP, Docker and Kubernetes) and with professional development tools
  • Competence instead of hierarchy: We value solution-oriented teamwork with passionate, experienced and pleasant colleagues. Whether you are a working student, junior software developer or project manager, everyone can learn from each other, openly express criticism and contribute creative ideas.
  • Change instead of annoyance: We engage in open and constructive communication about technological, methodological and social challenges within the team and with development partners. It is important to us to celebrate joint successes as well as to work together to identify the causes of failures and develop solutions.
  • Trust instead of processes: We believe in flexible working hours and a trusting working environment, and we enjoy sharing stories about our activities and travels or rewarding ourselves with monthly team events.
  • Tunnel instead of hype: We enjoy working in a quiet and stylish office in the heart of a beautiful city and provide you with everything you need to feel comfortable and develop freely, from chilled drinks and healthy fruit to your desired technical set-up.
